I had completely forgotten about this until it came on when my iTunes was set to random while cooking dinner. I think I made it around 2005, and hearing it while stirring soup made me realize how well it seems to have aged. Definitely grown, and definitely sexy. The songs mesh so well you almost can’t tell it’s a song sandwich.
My buddy Mr. Jeigh in Portland, OR told me he had been working with a crew out there that threw Motorcycle Parties and they had highered him to travel with them as a DJ. Sounds like a pretty fun gig! I actually played a motorcycle event a couple years ago in the back of Roberta’s in Bushwick.
I pressed up these CDs to take with me to Europe in ’05. The package included the 2nd rare rap mix I did, and this bonus mix of uptempo tracks. It was made mainly to cater to breakdancers, but people seemed to enjoy it in their headphones and cars as much as on the linoleum or cardboard.
So, I’m finally done with the new Psych Mix. It’s being tied up in manufacturing, but in the mean time I thought I’d share a short sampler version. REM II will be in stores soon. Track List available in the package.
Hard as a box of nails!! I’m surprised “I’m Alive” hasn’t been licensed for a shampoo commercial yet, but hopefully it’ll stay off of Madison Avenue’s radar.
